A Triple Homicide Stuns Vishnulok Colony

In the normally tranquil Raipur neighbourhood of Dehradun, a grisly episode ended the lives of three individuals. An 80‑year‑old retiree, Ramesh Kapoor, his 75‑year‑old wife Rajni Kapoor, and 48‑year‑old domestic helper Tiliya Devi – affectionately called Sheila – were discovered dead after a routine plumbing job spiraled into lethal violence.

Police Account: A Simple Payment Issue Turned Deadly

Investigators say the suspect, identified as Rajkumar, was summoned to the Kapoor residence for standard plumbing repairs. Once the work was finished, a disagreement over the final bill erupted. The argument quickly escalated, resulting in a violent assault on the elderly couple. Sheila, who was attending to chores in a nearby home, heard the shouts, rushed to the scene, and was likewise attacked.

All three victims were rushed to Coronation Hospital, where medical staff declared them dead.

Neighbourhood Intervention Leads to Arrest

After the murders, Rajkumar tried to escape the block, but alert residents intercepted him and handed him over to the police. Authorities confirmed that the accused hails from Bijnor and had been living in Indresh Nagar, Dehradun. Frequent visits to the Kapoor house meant he was familiar with the family’s daily routine.

Rajkumar is now in police custody while detectives reconstruct how a payment dispute escalated to a fatal showdown.

Community Reaction: Fear and Outrage Sweep the Area

The triple homicide has left Vishnulok Colony in a state of shock. Women, senior citizens and neighbours gathered near the scene, expressing deep sorrow and mounting concerns over personal safety. The Kapoor couple were well‑known and beloved, making their loss all the more unsettling.

Locals pointed out that inviting plumbers, electricians and domestic staff into homes is a routine practice, especially for elderly occupants. This tragedy has prompted many families to rethink the security risks of granting regular access to service workers.

Demand for Robust Law‑Enforcement Action

Residents are urging police to launch a thorough investigation and pursue stringent legal measures if the allegations are confirmed. Several senior inhabitants have also called for heightened patrolling, noting that Vishnulok Colony has traditionally been a peaceful enclave.

Sheila’s death adds another layer of grief; she was a familiar face to the Kapoor household and had previously served them for years. Her relatives arrived at the hospital after receiving the heartbreaking news.

Ongoing Investigation

Law‑enforcement agencies continue to probe the case, while the community remains on edge, awaiting further updates and assurances of safety.
