A brief rest spirals into a night‑time robbery
During the early hours, Vivek and his relatives pulled over near Rai to shake off fatigue. After securing the vehicle, they settled inside for a quick nap, oblivious to the crime brewing nearby.
How the burglary unfolded
In the dim pre‑dawn light, Vivek awoke to a stranger rummaging around the car. The intruder pried open the locked doors, snatched a bag, a laptop, a mobile phone, earbuds, chargers and several other personal items. Before Vivek could react, the assailant sprinted away, leapt over a metal railing and linked up with two accomplices waiting on a motorcycle across the road.
Escape on two wheels
The trio sped off in a coordinated dash, leaving the stunned family behind and taking away belongings valued at roughly ₹2.25 lakh.
Police response and investigation
Vivek, a resident of Maruti Kunj, filed a formal complaint with Rai police, urging swift recovery of the stolen goods and arrest of the culprits. Authorities have lodged an FIR and are now reviewing witness statements, CCTV footage and any leads that could reveal the thieves' identities and escape route.
Investigators stressed the need for heightened vigilance during roadside stops, especially on isolated stretches, and reminded motorists to double‑check vehicle security before taking a break.
