Muzaffarpur. In a rapid raid close to Kalyambagh Chowk, constables from the Kazimohammadpur police station detained two individuals found carrying roughly 80 grams of ganja. The duo was escorted to the station where Station House Officer Chandrabhushan Kumar Singh recorded the FIR and set the subsequent legal process in motion.

Expanded Sweep and Continuing Investigation

Following the arrests, investigators carried out nocturnal searches at several sites that emerged from the detainees’ statements. The police are now piecing together the intelligence provided to uncover a broader narcotics distribution ring.

In recent weeks, the crackdown across the area has resulted in more than twenty‑four arrests and the confiscation of assorted narcotics, including:

  • Cannabis (ganja)
  • Smack
  • Heroin
  • Brown sugar

Operation Extends to Vaishali

The anti‑narcotics drive has now reached the adjacent Vaishali district. Three days earlier, officers in Ahiyapur conducted a sweep near the Bairiya Bus Stand, seizing 28.06 kg of ganja and taking the alleged trafficker Mithun Kumar of Bhagwanpur into custody.

Further questioning revealed additional operatives based in Vaishali. Earlier this week, a joint task force intercepted 185 grams of heroin and smack from three suspected couriers near Chandni Chowk. The suspects—Vikram Kumar, Sakaldeep Rai (both from Jadua, under Nagar police jurisdiction) and Sonu Kumar Rai of Bidupur—have been detained, and the probe continues to map out the network’s full extent.
