Satna, Madhya Pradesh – A disturbing case of assault and intimidation involving a college student has surfaced in Satna. According to the police report, four young women took a 19‑year‑old student to a remote field, verbally abused and physically assaulted her, and recorded the whole episode. The attackers allegedly pressured her to become friends with a particular male student and threatened to broadcast the footage if she refused.

The alleged incident occurred on 6 August, but it only reached public attention more than a month later when the video began circulating on Instagram and WhatsApp. The victim subsequently approached the Kolgawan police station to file a formal complaint.

The FIR states that an acquaintance invited the student to the market under the guise of a task. From there, the girl was taken on a scooter to a field where three other girls were already waiting. Upon arrival, the four accused allegedly hurled insults, pushed her, and struck her repeatedly.

According to the complaint, the perpetrators demanded that the student establish contact with a specific boy and send messages on his behalf. When she declined, they physically assaulted her and forced her to apologize to the boy during a video call.

Matter Escalated After Video Went Viral

The victim claims the girls warned her that the video would be released publicly if she spoke about the assault. Ironically, the clip eventually spread across social media platforms, prompting the student to involve law enforcement.

Prompted by the viral footage, the police opened an investigation and, on Saturday, registered a case against the four accused under several provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), invoking Sections 296(b), 115(2), 351(3) and 3(5).
