Senior Learner Brandishes Weapon, Triggers Panic at Shri Kund‑Kund Jain Inter College
On Thursday, a senior student forced his way into the premises of Shri Kund‑Kund Jain Inter College in Muzaffarnagar wielding a locally‑manufactured pistol. Posing as someone who had come to clear his dues, he slipped past the locked main gate and headed straight for a classroom where a Class 10 pupil was seated.
The Shot and Immediate Mayhem
Inside the room the teenager is alleged to have pulled the trigger. The round missed its intended target, but the sharp report echoed through the corridors, sending students and staff into a state of alarm. Principal Anurag Jain, accompanied by several teachers, rushed to the scene, only to find the gunman turning the weapon toward the principal as well.
Why the Violence Erupted
According to the accused, the younger boy and members of his group had verbally abused and physically assaulted him earlier in the week. Police suspect the shooting was a retaliatory act following an incident in which the Class 10 group allegedly struck the senior with sticks two days prior.
Teachers Contain the Situation, Police Arrive
Through calm negotiation, the faculty succeeded in disarming the student and securing the firearm. Law enforcement was called to the campus, where officers recovered the pistol along with two cartridges. The suspect was taken into custody for further questioning.
Principal’s View on Campus Safety
“He claimed he was coming to pay his fees, which lowered our guard at the gate,” Principal Jain explained. “The swift actions of our teachers prevented a tragedy from unfolding.”
Investigation Ongoing
Investigators are now reconstructing the timeline of the earlier confrontation and the subsequent shooting. The Class 10 student escaped injury, and the case remains under active police scrutiny.
