A Vatican‑Inspired Marvel Takes Shape
In the coal‑laden heart of Rajrappa, the Shri Shri Durga Puja Committee is constructing a pandal that mirrors the grandeur of Italy’s Vatican City. Spearheaded by Pankaj Tent House of Ramgarh, more than a dozen craftsmen are erecting a pavilion that will soar to approximately 51 feet in height and 70 feet in width. The project carries a budget of roughly ₹7.75 lakh, aiming to transport visitors into a slice of the iconic holy city.
Fair Attractions & Cultural Programme
Beyond the majestic pandal, the venue will come alive with a host of amusements. Organisers intend to set up close to ten different rides, among them a daring stunt attraction dubbed the “Well of Death.” Food stalls, souvenir kiosks and a dedicated cultural troupe will keep families and devotees entertained throughout the celebrations. The Durga idol for this year is planned to stand six to seven feet tall.
Stringent Security Arrangements
Anticipating a massive turnout, the committee has deployed a surveillance network featuring around 60 CCTV cameras to monitor the pandal and its surroundings. Additional police personnel from the Rajrappa station will be on standby to ensure order and respond swiftly to any incidents.
Spiritual Setting
Rajrappa already enjoys a sacred reputation thanks to the renowned Maa Chhinnamastika Temple, a magnet for pilgrims during Navratri. This year’s fusion of a Vatican‑styled pandal, lively fair, cultural showcases and heightened security is set to make Durga Puja an unforgettable experience for worshippers and tourists alike.
