Dehradun. The next milestone of the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Vidyarthi Manthan’ initiative, aimed at amplifying youth involvement in the state’s progress, is set for September 18. On that day, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will sit down with 140 hand‑picked students from across Uttarakhand to hear their visions for the theme, ‘What Should the Uttarakhand of My Dreams Look Like?’

The event goes beyond a simple dialogue with the chief minister. Following his directive, senior IAS officers and heads of key departments have been asked to engage with the same cohort. Prior to the CM’s audience, these officials will conduct separate sessions to dig deeper into the youngsters’ proposals.

Over 2.67 Lakh Young Voices Submitted Ideas

Roughly three hundred thousand students from classes 11 and 12 took part in the campaign. A total of 267,744 entries were logged on the online portal, covering topics such as education, jobs, tourism, environment, migration, technology, health, and self‑employment.

A panel of experts shortlisted 140 candidates based on the originality and relevance of their submissions. These students now have a direct line to the chief minister to present their aspirations.

Interactive Sessions with IAS Officers Planned

To translate youthful ideas into actionable policies, officials from the departments of Education, Health, Forest & Environment, Public Works, Tourism, Information Technology, Self‑Employment, and Women & Child Development will meet the students.

During these round‑tables, the officers will probe the participants’ perspectives on development pathways, employment generation, and the broader future of Uttarakhand.

Scholarships Worth Up to ₹2 Lakh for the Selected 140

Under the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Vidyarthi Manthan’ scheme, each of the 140 chosen students will be awarded a scholarship of up to ₹2 lakh to fund career‑preparation coaching after class 12. The financial aid was announced by CM Dhami during the campaign’s launch, recognising the merit of the students’ contributions.

Embedding Youth Suggestions into Government Programs

CM Dhami affirmed that the administration will strive to weave the valuable inputs from students into existing schemes and policy frameworks. He stressed that tapping into young innovators’ ideas is essential for shaping Uttarakhand’s developmental trajectory.

The September 18 gathering will thus serve as a pivotal platform, allowing the selected scholars to voice their plans directly to the chief minister and to engage with senior bureaucrats on a spectrum of development challenges.
