Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami affirmed that the people of Uttarakhand yearn for both stability and progress, and that his administration is steering the state toward that dual goal. By foregrounding welfare‑centric programmes, the government aims to ensure that development benefits cascade to every citizen.
The remarks were delivered during the ‘Uttarakhand: Development, Challenges, and the Road to 2027’ summit, convened by the Adda Insider newspaper at a hotel on Rajpur Road.
‘Nation First, Organization Second, Individual Third’ – Guiding Philosophy
Dhami reiterated his party’s foundational creed: ‘Nation First, Organization Second, Individual Third.’ He explained that this hierarchy shapes every policy decision and fuels the state’s commitment to holistic development.
Referencing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s deep ties with the region, the chief minister noted that the prime minister has visited Uttarakhand 28 times since taking office. He added that the Centre is now giving special attention to border districts, a shift that followed the PM’s description of Mana as India’s ‘First Village.’
Tourism and Sustainable Growth on the Rise
According to Dhami, Uttarakhand is advancing across multiple sectors under the prime minister’s guidance. The state recently clinched the top spot in the NITI Aayog Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Index and has earned national accolades for its tourism initiatives.
He also highlighted the state’s growing reputation as a hotspot for film shoots, adventure tourism and destination weddings.
Job Creation and Entrepreneurship for the Youth
The chief minister emphasized Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047, with young people at the helm of that transformation. Uttarakhand’s government is expanding avenues for education, skill‑building, formal employment and self‑employment to harness youthful energy.
Dhami shared that he prefers to converse with the younger generation as a peer rather than a politician, believing that listening to their ideas revitalizes his own drive.
Transparency in Public Recruitment
To bolster confidence in government hiring, Dhami announced the enforcement of a strict anti‑cheating statute. He reported that this measure has reinforced trust among diligent aspirants.
In the past five years, roughly 35,000 youngsters have been inducted into various state services.
Reclaiming Public Land from Encroachment
Efforts to safeguard Uttarakhand’s natural character include a massive drive against illegal land grabs. To date, the administration has liberated more than 13,000 acres of government property.
Dhami concluded by stressing the intent to push development to the most remote corners of the state while equipping young talent with the resources they need to thrive.
