New Delhi: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) posted a strong third‑quarter performance for FY 2026‑27, comfortably surpassing analyst estimates. Net profit jumped 15 % year‑on‑year to ₹13,884 crore, up from ₹12,075 crore a year earlier, following a sequential rise of about 4 % to ₹13,349 crore in the April‑June period.
Operating revenue rose 11.22 % to ₹73,188 crore in the July‑September window, compared with ₹65,799 crore in the same quarter last year. North America, the company’s flagship market, delivered a modest 1.5 % constant‑currency growth, while India emerged as the fastest‑growing region with a 6 % increase.
AI Services Fuel New Revenue Streams
The artificial‑intelligence division kept its upward momentum, generating $3.1 billion in the September quarter – up from $2.6 billion in the previous quarter. This expanding AI contribution highlights the rising demand for intelligent solutions across TCS’s global client base.
Alongside the stronger earnings, the board approved a second interim dividend of ₹12 per equity share (face value ₹1), a step likely to keep investors focused on the firm’s growth trajectory and shareholder‑return policy.
Workforce Growth and Talent Strategy
During the quarter, TCS added a net 4,258 staff members, taking total headcount to 598,056 as of 30 September 2026. The attrition rate for its IT services division remained steady at 13.3 %.
Sudeep Kunnumal, TCS’s Chief Human Resources Officer, reiterated the company’s commitment to upskilling its workforce and preparing talent for emerging business demands.
Overall, the latest results underscore TCS’s accelerating profitability, rising AI‑related revenues, and continued talent expansion amid a rapidly evolving technology landscape.
