Samsung expands its sound lineup with the debut of the Galaxy Buds On, the company’s first wireless earphones that attach to the outer ear instead of nesting inside the canal. Their open‑ear architecture lets you enjoy music or calls while staying tuned to the world around you.
Clip‑on, open‑ear design for comfort and awareness
The Buds On feature a wide, adjustable clip that rests gently on the ear’s outer rim, paired with a flexible arm that conforms to various ear shapes. By positioning the drivers just outside the ear canal, they provide rich audio without fully sealing off ambient sounds, helping wearers stay alert.
Audio performance and leakage control
Power comes from Samsung’s TwinBoost drivers and a Qualcomm Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 Sound Platform, boosted by a Class‑D amp. An automatic volume‑balancing algorithm adapts output levels, while the proprietary Audio Leakage Reduction technology curtails sound that escapes the earbuds, reducing disturbance for nearby listeners.
Battery life and playback time
Samsung claims the Buds On can sustain up to 9.5 hours of continuous music on a single charge, easily covering a full day of commuting or remote‑work sessions.
Calling, AI integration and gesture controls
Three built‑in microphones, a bone‑conduction voice sensor, and AI‑driven noise suppression collaborate to deliver crystal‑clear voice transmission even in bustling environments. The earbuds also plug into Samsung’s Galaxy AI ecosystem, enabling voice commands such as launching Gemini Live or creating a Quick Voice Memo. Head‑gesture controls let you answer calls, mute alarms, or glance at notifications without touching a device.
Seamless connection with Galaxy devices
Opening the charging case automatically pairs the Buds On with compatible Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Users can tweak volume, EQ, and other preferences directly from the phone’s Quick Panel or Settings menu.
Pricing, availability and pending specifications
The earbuds are priced at KRW 299,000 (approximately ₹21,000) and will launch in South Korea on 27 October in a sleek black finish. An international rollout is anticipated later, though Samsung has yet to reveal details such as driver dimensions, Bluetooth version, supported codecs, or charging speed. More technical specs are expected as the launch date approaches.
