Interception Close to the Line of Control

Security units patrolling the Lam sector of Nowshera in Rajouri stopped a teenage girl as she headed toward the Indian side of the Line of Control (LoC). The 17‑year‑old was immediately placed under custody for an initial debrief before being handed over to the local police.

The youngster has been identified as Samiya Azeem, daughter of Mohammad Azeem, originating from Khuiretta in Pakistan‑occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK).

Police Take Charge of the Probe

After the army completed its first round of questioning, Samiya was transferred to the Nowshera Police. Investigators are now reconstructing the route she used to reach the Indian side of the LoC.

In the preliminary interview, the teenager told officials that she had inadvertently crossed the border. Security agencies are currently cross‑checking her claim and assessing the surrounding circumstances.

Authorities Examine Every Angle

Both the military and police are conducting a thorough review of the case. They are verifying her identity, mapping the exact path she took, and determining whether the crossing was truly accidental or driven by another motive.

Given the strategic sensitivity of the region, officials are handling the matter with heightened vigilance, awaiting further evidence from ongoing interrogations and verification efforts.

Minor Status Shapes the Investigation

Because Samiya is only 17, the inquiry will adhere to legal procedures applicable to minors. The primary aim is to establish the facts surrounding her presence near the LoC, with no official motive disclosed at this stage.

Updates are expected as the investigation advances and authorities decide on any subsequent steps.
