Late‑Night Tragedy Claims Life of Indore Businessman

In the early hours of a Sunday, a 44‑year‑old entrepreneur from Indore lost his life when his car struck a provisional divider set up for ongoing metro construction. The victim, Kamal Vagela, was driving home along Mahavir Krishna Avenue when the accident occurred.

Police reports state that Kamal was traveling with several companions who alighted at various points along the route. After they had left the vehicle, he continued alone toward his residence. Moments later, his car slammed into the construction barrier positioned close to his house. Bystanders who witnessed the crash immediately alerted emergency services, and Kamal was rushed to Maharaja Yashwantrao Hospital. Despite aggressive medical intervention, he was declared dead at the scene.

Kamal, the son of Durgashankar Vagela, owned a hair‑cosmetics business. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son, all of whom are mourning his sudden loss.

Relatives Question Safety Protocols at the Metro Site

Following the incident, Kamal’s family has raised serious doubts about the adequacy of safety measures around the metro construction zone. They contend that the temporary divider was installed without sufficient signage or alerts for motorists, creating a blind spot that likely contributed to the fatal collision.

The grieving relatives are demanding a comprehensive explanation of the site’s safety procedures and are urging authorities to re‑evaluate traffic management and warning systems in the area.

Police Initiate Inquiry and Review Surveillance Footage

Law enforcement agencies have opened an investigation to piece together the sequence of events leading up to the crash. Investigators are scrutinising CCTV recordings from nearby cameras to establish how the vehicle approached the barrier and whether any other factors were involved.

Officials are also inspecting the road’s condition and the overall layout of the construction site. A detailed report will be released once all video evidence, on‑site examinations, and witness statements have been analysed.
