Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami received a delegation of young leaders from Haryana who were on a three‑day exploratory tour of Uttarakhand. The interaction at the chief minister’s residence gave the guests a chance to voice their observations on the state’s recent progress in road and rail connectivity, renewable energy, tourism infrastructure and social welfare schemes.

Road, rail and digital networks win praise

The visitors highlighted the swift expansion of highway networks and broadband coverage that now reach even the most secluded hill hamlets. Newly constructed mountain passes and extended fiber‑optic lines have turned previously inaccessible villages into connected communities.

Railway extensions also earned commendation, with the youngsters noting that faster, more frequent trains are opening fresh pathways for pilgrims and tourists alike.

Beyond transport, the group admired Uttarakhand’s clean air and the surge in homestay establishments, crediting proactive government incentives that have turned family homes into thriving micro‑enterprises.

Infrastructure projects in border districts were singled out as vital bridges that link frontier populations with mainstream development.

Homestays, solar rooftops and a serene ambience

During their itinerary, the Haryana team witnessed how upgraded tourism amenities are drawing increased footfall, directly bolstering local livelihoods.

The solar‑roof initiative was described as a forward‑looking move, capitalising on the state’s abundant sunshine and rugged terrain.

Equally striking was the tranquil atmosphere and heartfelt hospitality of residents, allowing the visitors to feel the cultural pulse that gives the region its nickname, “Devbhoomi.”

CM Dhami on cross‑state learning

Welcoming the guests, CM Dhami invoked the timeless principle of “Atithi Devo Bhava.” He stressed that youth exchanges across states nurture an appreciation of India’s diversity while showcasing successful development models, innovative practices and inclusive policies.

Such dialogues, he said, can spark idea‑sharing and inspire young leaders to adapt best‑practices in their own regions.

Emphasis on last‑mile development

The chief minister reiterated that Uttarakhand’s growth agenda is anchored in delivering benefits to the grassroots. He outlined welfare programmes aimed at poor families, women, farmers and youth, all rooted in the Antyodaya philosophy.

Transparent recruitment drives have reportedly placed around 35,000 young professionals in state services over the past five years, creating pathways for both employment and entrepreneurship.

Progress balanced with heritage

Uttarakhand, Dhami explained, is forging ahead while safeguarding its cultural and natural legacy. Key thrusts include women’s empowerment, self‑employment schemes, tourism promotion, branding of local products, homestay support, solar energy rollout and development of border areas. He also referenced the state’s move toward a Uniform Civil Code.

Young people as digital brand ambassadors

During the discussion, the CM urged the Haryana visitors to amplify their positive experiences on social media, describing them as potential “digital brand ambassadors” who can highlight Uttarakhand’s pilgrimage sites, tourism offerings, indigenous crafts, millets, homestays and the achievements of women’s self‑help groups.

By sharing these stories, the youths can broaden awareness of Uttarakhand’s initiatives nationwide, strengthening cultural ties and fostering collaborative growth between Haryana and Uttarakhand in culture, tourism, innovation and development.
