Chandigarh — During a recent delegation to Singapore, Haryana’s chief minister Nayab Singh Saini turned the trip into a live exhibition of investment prospects that stretch far beyond the state’s flagship business hub, Gurugram.
On day three of the itinerary, Saini sat down with executives from more than a dozen companies, urging them to consider projects that span cutting‑edge manufacturing to next‑generation industry infrastructure.
Emerging Cities in the Spotlight
The administration intends to replicate a slice of Gurugram’s vibrant technology ecosystem in five additional locales—Panchkula, Karnal, Hisar, Sonipat and Rohtak—positioning them as future magnets for tech‑centric enterprises and multinational firms.
Officials highlight a blend of skilled labour, robust connectivity, competitive cost structures and rapidly upgrading urban amenities as a compelling value proposition for investors.
Priority Sectors Highlighted
Talks in Singapore zeroed in on several focus areas: semiconductor and electronics manufacturing, green‑energy solutions, data‑centre development, advanced production techniques, warehousing, and digital‑infrastructure services.
Saini emphasized Haryana’s strategic placement within the Delhi‑NCR, its mature industrial base, and seamless road‑and‑freight links as decisive advantages for firms eyeing the northern Indian market.
The state is also courting Singaporean companies to establish technology hubs, global capability centres, and related operations on the ground.
Data‑Centre Policy 2026 Takes Center Stage
Data infrastructure emerged as a top priority. Haryana has unveiled a New Data Centre Policy‑2026 aimed at simplifying land allocation, power supply, ancillary services and regulatory clearances for data‑centre projects.
The overarching goal is to cultivate a friendlier investment climate that expedites the rollout of large‑scale data facilities.
Logistics and Infrastructure Edge
The state is leveraging its extensive network of expressways, national highways, industrial corridors and freight hubs to strengthen its pitch to global investors.
Situated between major manufacturing and consumption zones in North India, Haryana claims a natural advantage for logistics and supply‑chain activities, while Singapore’s expertise could spark joint initiatives in urban planning and freight management.
Accelerated Government Support
Saini reassured prospective investors that the Haryana administration will provide hands‑on assistance throughout every stage of project development, from proposal review to on‑site execution.
Faster approval cycles and dedicated administrative support are being promoted as hallmarks of the state’s drive to become a more competitive destination for foreign business.
Job Creation at the Core
The outreach is not solely about capital inflow; it also aims to generate quality employment for local youth and stimulate demand for industry‑relevant skills.
Through its Singapore engagement, Haryana hopes to broaden its industrial footprint beyond Gurugram, forging stronger international partnerships that accelerate technology adoption, manufacturing growth and infrastructure development across the region.
