Mumbai: Monday’s box‑office receipts fell across the board, yet Ajay Devgn’s suspense‑drama Drishyam 3 held firm at the summit. After a blockbuster opening weekend, the picture added roughly ₹21 crore on its first Monday, lifting its Indian net to about ₹197.54 crore.
Drishyam 3 continues to dominate
Released on 2 October under the helm of Abhishek Pathak, the film racked up ₹62 crore on day one, followed by ₹53.5 crore on Saturday and ₹61 crore on Sunday. The robust weekend haul left it just a few crores shy of the coveted ₹200‑crore barrier. With three straight days crossing the ₹50‑crore mark, the movie stands as the clear front‑runner among current releases. The ensemble – Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Jaideep Ahlawat – has now pushed the net collection to ₹197.54 crore.
The Vvan slides below ₹1 crore
Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia’s The Vvan enjoyed a respectable weekend but faltered once the workweek began. After a Sunday haul of ₹3.25 crore, Monday’s earnings plunged to ₹95 lakh on its 11th day, bringing the film’s total Indian net to roughly ₹63.05 crore.
Hanuman Ansh records a sharp Monday dip
The two‑month‑old Hanuman Ansh continues to add to its impressive tally, yet daily revenues have tumbled dramatically. Sunday’s collection stood at ₹3 crore, while Monday fell to about ₹75 lakh. Despite the dip, the movie’s Indian net now sits near ₹325.48 crore.
Prem Keetanu struggles to gain momentum
Among the newer entrants, Prem Keetanu posted a modest performance. It opened with ₹50 lakh on Friday, followed by ₹35 lakh on Saturday and ₹28 lakh on Sunday. Monday’s take was a mere ₹10 lakh, leaving its four‑day total at a modest level. The cast includes Veer Pahariya, Afiya Syed and Aparshakti Khurana.
Overall box‑office landscape
The latest figures underline a widening gap between the leader and the rest of the slate. While Drishyam 3 edges toward the ₹200‑crore milestone, both The Vvan and Hanuman Ansh suffered pronounced Monday declines. As weekday earnings become the key barometer, the coming days will reveal whether these titles can sustain their theatrical momentum.
