New Delhi. Early Monday morning a wave of bomb‑threat emails landed in the inboxes of a number of schools across Delhi, compelling heads of institutions to activate emergency procedures and clear the premises of students and teachers.

Multiple campuses targeted

Among the schools named were Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in Lodhi Estate and Chinmaya Vidyalaya in Vasant Vihar, along with a handful of other institutions scattered along the Lutyens’ Delhi corridor. Although the messages were dispatched at dawn, administrators only became aware of them between 11 a.m. and noon.

Swift coordination with police and fire services

Once the threats were verified, each campus immediately alerted the Delhi Police and Delhi Fire Services, putting their crisis‑management protocols into motion. Students and faculty were escorted out of the buildings as a precaution while specialist teams arrived on site.

Bomb squads and sniffer‑dogs deployed

Police units equipped with bomb‑detection experts and sniffer‑dog teams flooded the affected schools. The fire department also dispatched crews; the Delhi Fire Services control room recorded a call regarding the Vasant Vihar school at about 12:30 p.m., sending a fire tender and personnel to assist with the evacuation.

A thorough anti‑sabotage sweep was carried out across all buildings. At the time of writing, investigators reported that no suspicious devices or materials had been found.

Parents kept informed

Sardar Patel Vidyalaya quickly notified parents that every child had been safely evacuated and that classes would only resume once authorities gave clearance.

This episode echoes a similar wave of bomb‑threat emails that hit the same school and several other Delhi institutions roughly two weeks earlier, during the examination period, which also triggered extensive security inspections.

Law‑enforcement agencies continue to analyse the latest emails, trace their source and keep the city’s educational institutions on high alert.
