Metro stations temporarily closed

In anticipation of a large gathering at Jantar Mantar, authorities have halted passenger entry and exit at eleven Delhi Metro stations. The affected locations are Janpath, Patel Chowk, Central Secretariat, Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, Lok Kalyan Marg, INA, Chawri Bazar, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg and New Delhi. While the station gates stay locked, interchange corridors at several hubs remain operational for passengers transferring between lines.

Police bolster presence

Delhi Police have deployed additional personnel around Jantar Mantar and surrounding areas, installed barricades at vulnerable points, and intensified surveillance and security checks. The administration has also imposed restrictive measures across the New Delhi district.

Traffic alerts

The Delhi Traffic Police warn of severe congestion on routes leading to Jantar Mantar, Connaught Place, Patel Chowk and Sansad Marg. Motorists are advised to seek alternate paths before entering the affected zones.

What lies ahead?

The temporary metro shutdowns are part of a wider security strategy. Officials will keep monitoring the situation and may modify station access if conditions change.
