Dehradun. On his birthday Wednesday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid a heartfelt visit to the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (NIEPVD). He joined the institute’s students in a joyful cake‑cutting ceremony and spent quality time with them, radiating warmth and affection.
The youngsters greeted the chief minister with evident excitement. Dhami interacted warmly, encouraged each child, and wished them a future filled with brilliance. The atmosphere brimmed with camaraderie, love, and a strong sense of community.
Addressing the gathering, the chief minister highlighted that every child harbors talent and vast potential. He stressed that nurturing these abilities requires the right opportunities, steadfast encouragement, and confidence‑building. According to Dhami, empowering persons with disabilities is not solely a governmental duty—it is a shared responsibility of the entire society.
He urged the students to chase their aspirations with self‑belief, perseverance, and consistent effort. Dhami reiterated that ensuring equal chances, dignity, and a supportive environment for every individual is a collective obligation.
Spending time with the children, he said, revitalises his spirit and fuels his inspiration. Their affection and the bright smiles on their faces, he added, are the most memorable gifts he could receive on his birthday.
The event was also attended by the chief minister’s wife, Smt. Geeta Pushkar Dhami, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi, and several teachers from the institute.
